Hello and welcome to my profile page, thank you for showing interest in me and my professional career.

Here is a little bit about myself:

I am a certified Agile Practitioner, Project Manager and incorporated as a freelancer at the beginning of 2023. I graduated from VIU in Nanaimo in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Science in International Business. Before that I studied and lived in Germany, New Zealand and then Canada and have made my home in BC since 2011.

As a full-time Project Manager for digital agencies I was responsible for leading cross-functional teams to successful completion of Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager and Kentico web projects for enterprise clients. These contained brand new designs, redesigns and software upgrades for the client products such as websites and mobile apps. In those roles I gained my Scrum Product Owner and Scrum Master certificates and applied all common Scrum practices with my teams. These included but were not limited to leading daily stand-up calls, running sprint reviews and retrospectives and aligning project tasks in Jira to track our progress. I was also responsible for creating estimates, budgeting projects and managing the team in its capacity and ability for the work performed. I have facilitated kick-off meetings for my clients, gathered requirements with Business Analysts and Product Owners, provided Work Breakdown Structures and worked with the team members to deliver within scope (for traditional project approaches) in time, and within budget. I was the servant leader to my teams and for the companies I represented and at the same time am able to take on the role of a Product Owner if working for my clients directly.

In each position my main focus is the success of the project and satisfaction of its stakeholders.  The way of how I came to be Project Manager is also what helped me serve my clients well over the years;

In my years of experience as a Database Administrator I managed databases and their software integration for an automotive dealership group in Canada, with a focus on the data synchronization between CRM's like One-Eighty and the implementation of new processes as part of their change management approach in the service and sales departments and to serve the marketing team better for the creation of sales campaigns and workflows. It was where I first learned about the importance of CRM and CMS systems, and what sparked my interest in the field.

As one of my first jobs in the IT/Tech startup world, I managed the content for product- and feature-releases and upcoming events, as the Digital Marketing Specialist for a successful international SaaS company, working out of Vancouver to support Managed Service Providers. In this role I helped to create the online content and SEO plan as well as KPI reports for our executives. The role started out as a Data Administrator role, setting up HubSpot for the company’s sales department, and quickly turned into the Marketing position, as I became most familiar with the data being pulled to support events and campaigns. This was also where I first functioned as a team lead and collaborated with content writers, the marketing team, the sales team, and a designer to create campaigns, which we planned by using project management tools like Asana.

I then worked as a Partnership (Account) Manager and consulted clients with the best approach for their digital products and sales initiatives, which allowed me to gain insights about the desired user journeys, how to manage change requests coming in, how to follow best practice quality control processes, as well as the importance of data privacy and compliance within each digital product. I learned to write user stories in TFS and worked on product backlog items with the development team.

Later on as a Business Analyst I was to provide guidance and added value by not only improving PBI’s and requirements but by optimizing the user experience based on my experiences I gained with the clients. I could then quickly implement change with developers or easily coordinate with designers if the stakeholders changed their mind about a feature.

I gained a substantial knowledge of different project management and CMS tools, was responsible for optimizing business processes and software infrastructure in the automotive, IT and publishing industry - while at the same time taking on local business’ with the design of websites for smaller clients using wix.com. As a volunteer I was also involved in upgrading a German sports club operation to a cloud based service, to help them increase efficiency and be able to collaborate better.

I am dedicated to managing software products with a focus mainly on providing the right solution to my clients, and making them happy. I am most experienced with managing teams around websites and apps and in CMS and CRM tools, but have also come to know lots of Data Management Tools and was working on large eCommerce projects or discovery projects in the healthcare industry. I am passionate about finding new tools and ways to make the clients’ operations more efficient, including making websites smarter and more compliant, business processes leaner through optimization or helping teams to collaborate easier in cloud based systems to increase productivity.

I enjoy documenting and studying new approaches for better collaboration and efficiency in order for businesses to gain a competitive advantage and create value. I have an analytical and creative mind and a driven passion for solving problems. I love projects, because they either allow me to gain new knowledge or master what I already know. I enjoy working in teams (remote or other) of like minded individuals, that are excited about the optimization of digital products, the invention of new products - and love to collaborate with people who are able to adapt quickly to change in order to succeed.
